The Vechelde provost is one of twelve sub-districts of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Braunschweig .

Geographical location

The Vechelde provost is located in the northwest of the Braunschweig regional church in the city triangle Braunschweig-Peine-Salzgitter. In the north and west it borders on the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover , Gifhorn and Peine Church District, in the south on the Salzgitter-Lebenstedt provost and in the east on the Braunschweig provost.

The place Vechelde is a train station on the Hanover – Braunschweig railway line . The Mittelland Canal , from which the Salzgitter branch canal branches off near Wendeburg , runs through the northern provost office .

The provost of Vechelde includes all the localities of the municipality of Vechelde, the villages of Duttenstedt and Essinghausen of the city ​​of Peine , Bortfeld, Meerdorf, Sophiental, Wendeburg and Wendezelle of the municipality of Wendeburg , as well as Broitzem, Rüningen, Timmerlah, Völkenrode and Watenbüttel of the city ​​of Braunschweig .
