Pulp Summer Slam
The Pulp Summer Slam is a music festival that has been held annually in Manila , Philippines , since 2001 . Although the festival is mainly attended by local bands, the organizers managed to attract more than 25,000 visitors to the music festival several times. Mainly rock and metal bands appear at the Pulp Summer Slam , although various artists from other genres such as reggae , ska and hip-hop are also booked. The Pulp Summer Slam always takes place on the last weekend in April, Saturdays. The Pulp Summer Slam is the largest and longest running open air festival in Southeast Asia .
Since the first edition of the festival in 2001, several internationally known artists have played at the festival such as Lamb of God , Testament , Death Angel , Darkest Hour , Shadows Fall , Anthrax , Hellyeah , Arch Enemy , Blessthefall , We Came as Romans , Periphery , August Burns Red , Cannibal Corpse , Coheed and Cambria , Dragonforce , As I Lay Dying , Circa Survive , A Skylit Drive , Amoral , Bullet for My Valentine , Asking Alexandria , Kreator , Crossfaith , The Black Dahlia Murder , Carcass , Killswitch Engage , Cradle of Filth , The Word Alive , Escape the Fate , Suffocation , I Killed the Prom Queen , Lacuna Coil and Chthonic . The tenth edition of the festival was held at the Amoranto Stadium in Manila.
The band Shadows Fall recorded their DVD Madness in Manila , which was released on August 29, 2010 at the Pulp Summer Slam. Arch Enemy and Death Angel have also already recorded videos of their performances at the Pulp Summer Slam and used video excerpts for their documentaries.
