Purificación is a municipality (municipio) in the department of Tolima in Colombia .

Purificación is located in the southeast of Tolima , in the province of Suroriente at an altitude of 329 m above sea level. NN on the Río Magdalena about 96 km from Ibagué and has an average annual temperature of 26 ° C. The municipality borders on Guamo , Suárez and Cunday to the north, Villarrica to the east, Coyaima and Prado to the south and Saldaña to the west .
