Rachel Ticotin

Rachel Ticotin (born November 1, 1958 in the Bronx , New York City , New York ) is an American actress .

life and career

Ticotin's parents came to the United States from Puerto Rico in the early 1950s . They lived in the Bronx, New York. Ticotin took ballet lessons from the age of eight . When she was ten, she played a princess in the musical The King and I at New York City Center . At the age of twelve she attended the New York school Ballet Hispanico , where she a. a. was taught by Alvin Ailey , Geoffrey Holder and Anna Sokolow .

Ticotin starred in the 1978 film King of the Gypsies alongside Susan Sarandon , Brooke Shields and Eric Roberts , and alongside Richard Pryor in the 1987 film Critical Condition . In the film Total Recall (1990) she played alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and took on the role of the insurgent fighter Melina . For this role she was nominated for the Saturn Award . In the movie Falling Down (1993) she starred alongside Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall , in the movie Don Juan DeMarco (1995) alongside Marlon Brando and Johnny Depp . She was also featured in some television series such as For Love and Honor (1983).

Ticotin was married to David Caruso from 1983 to 1989 , with whom she has a daughter (* 1984). She has been married to fellow actor Peter Strauss since 1998 .
