Radeck is a village in the Austrian state of Salzburg , belonging to the municipality of Bergheim in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung (Flachgau). The place was important in the late Middle Ages and modern times due to the Radeck Castle located there , which served as a nursing court for a long time . As part of the municipality of Bergheim, Radeck is referred to as Radeck-Kasern , together with the neighboring Bergheim part of Kasern .

The settlement of Radeck, officially categorized as a village, is located in the southeast of the municipality of Bergheim. It is slightly elevated in relation to the environment on the eastern slope of the Plainberg at around 455 m above sea level. A. and is part of the Bergheimer Ortschaft Plain and cadastral municipality Bergheim I.

Separated from Radeck, east of the passing Lamprechtshausener Straße, is the part of Kasern, which has only a few buildings and belongs to Bergheim. It includes the even house numbers Carl-Zuckmayr-Straße 4-18 and the addresses Moosfeldstraße 1, 2, 2a and 2b. This area, bounded in the north by the Plainbach , forms together with Radeck the Bergheim district of Radeck-Kasern .

To the north of the Plainbach, the Lengfeld settlement immediately follows .

Culture

Radeck Castle Chapel

Today's Radeck Castle is privately owned.
The Prangerstutzenschützen Radeck are a traditional association formed in 1965/66. The club flag bears the coat of arms of the former Lords of Radeck on one side and a picture of the Radeck castle chapel on the other.
Every Tuesday before Pentecost there is a star pilgrimage to Maria Plain in Bergheim , starting from the Bergheim parish church, from Lengfelden and from the Radeck castle chapel.

traffic

Radeck has a connection to Lamprechtshausener Straße (B 156) and can be reached from there on an access road. The motorway exit Salzburg Nord of the Westautobahn (A 1) is not far away . On the other side of Lamprechtshausener Straße there are stops for the Salzburg bus line 21.
