history

Residential area Haguenau

Hagenau was originally a small homestead and is documented as Hag (e) naw at the end of the 14th century . In the 19th century there were only two farms ( Konskr.Nr.  2,3), located directly on the banks of the Salzach.

At the end of the 19th century, the first larger Salzach construction works were carried out here and in 1896 the route of the Salzburg local railway was laid on the newly reclaimed land . However, the regulation led to a threatening deepening of the bed of the Salzach until the 1950s , and during the floods in 1956 the motorway bridge south of Hagenau collapsed on August 13th. Since then, the Salzach construction has been revised.

In 1939, after Austria was annexed to Nazi Germany, when large communities were formed all over Austria, the Plainberg was incorporated with the surrounding area of the city of Salzburg (cadastral community Bergheim II ). In 1950, however, the Bergheim mountain area was returned in exchange to secure the slaughterhouse grounds for the city, so that Hagenau was separated along the state road.

Today the Bergheim part is a housing estate ( Hagenauersiedlung ), the Salzburg part mainly an industrial area.

traffic

Hagenau is accessible by the Hagenau stop , which is served by the S1 / S11 of the Salzburg S-Bahn .
The L118  Bergheimer Landesstraße / Oberndorfer Straße is a well-developed arterial road .

The Tauern cycle path and the long-distance hiking path 10 Rupertiweg run along the Treppelweg , the right bank of the Salzach , and the Arnoweg comes down from Maria Plain - both paths come together from the north. The Rupertiweg is - in the variant through the city - indicated from Maria Plain via Bergheim (the other variant runs from Maria Plain to Gaisberg ).

Hagenau substation

Line routing 380 kV Salzburg line

There is also a substation operated by Salzburg AG (Hagenau substation) , in which Verbund electricity (currently a double 220 kV line from the Salzach / Elixhausen substation ) to the city network and local railways (Salzburger Westring and to the Tauern / Kaprun substation) , as well as to Oberdorf-Timelkam to the Upper Austrian substation St. Peter ). It was built in 1949 by Salzburger Stadtwerke together with SAFE and is the only point of contact between the city's 110 kV network and the 220 kV network of Verbund-Austrian Power Grid. A peak load of 360 MW and an amount of electricity of 1830 GWh (2004) are transferred to the Salzburg network. A peak consumption of up to 500 MW is expected by 2020. As part of the new 380 kV line , consideration is also being given here to single-line routing or burial.
