Cyclist of the Year (Germany)
The cyclists of the year of Germany are chosen by the readers of the magazine Radsport . The magazine is the official organ of the Association of German Cyclists .
Among women, Hanka Kupfernagel and Kristina Vogel were honored most frequently with six awards each, and among men with six honors, Erik Zabel and Jan Ullrich with five. The men have been honored since 1971, the women since 1988. In 2009 the award for junior cyclists was added, and in 2015 a junior cyclist was honored for the first time in a separate category.
