Rampitz is a district of the village of Kötzschau in the city of Leuna in the Saale district (Saxony-Anhalt).

geography

Rampitz lies between Merseburg and Leipzig east of the Saale on the state border with Saxony . The Elsterfloßgraben flows through the village , east of Rampitz Der Bach , a tributary of the Luppe .

history

Rampitz was first mentioned in a document in 1479. The village belonged to the Merseburg administrative office of Lützen , which had been under Electoral Saxon sovereignty since 1561 and belonged to the secondary school principality of Saxony-Merseburg between 1656/57 and 1738 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place with the western part of the Office Lutzen came in 1815 to Prussia and in 1816 the county Merseburg in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony allocated. In 1857 the lignite mine “God's Help” opened near Rampitz and Thalschütz, and mining continued until 1917.

On July 1, 1950, Rampitz was incorporated into Kötzschau, with which it came to Leuna on December 31, 2009.
