Raphael Kapzan (born June 30, 1985 in Landshut ) is a former German ice hockey player who was active for many years at EV Ravensburg in the 2nd Bundesliga and DEL2 .
Career
Kapzan comes from the offspring of EV Landshut . His first experience in the club's first team, the Cannibals , he gained during the 2001/02 season in the major league . From 2002 to 2005 he went on the ice for Landshut in the 2nd Bundesliga before moving to the Straubing Tigers for the 2005/06 season, with whom he won the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga and was promoted to the German Ice Hockey League . The following season the defender began with the Tigers in the DEL, before he went on the ice at the end of the season at the second division EHC Munich .
In the summer of 2007, Kapzan moved to EV Ravensburg , where he has been under contract in the 2nd Bundesliga since then. In the 2010/11 season he was with the Tower Stars after a long injury break champion of the 2nd Bundesliga. In the second half of the season he came to a DEL assignment with a production license from the EHC Munich.
In March 2018, he ended his career due to several injuries and became branch manager and team manager at the Towerstars.
International
For Germany , Kapzan took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2002 and 2003 , and in 2003 he finished second in Division I with the U18 selection. At the U20 Junior World Championship in 2004 , he and his team rose to the top division, where he was unable to keep the class with the German team the following year .
