The constituency of the German Reich.

The Reichstag constituency of the province of Hessen-Nassau - Wiesbaden 3 administrative district was a constituency for the Reichstag elections in the German Reich and in the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1918.

Constituency layout

It included the former Nassau offices of Braubach , Montabaur , Nassau , Nastätten , St. Goarshausen and Wallmerod (parts of the Untertaunuskreis , the Rheingaukreis and the Unterlahnkreis ).

It was a party stronghold of the center . The elections were always decided in the first ballot; there were no runoff elections .

1890

In the Reichstag elections in 1890, the cartel parties opposed the all-powerful center as a common candidate to the NLP candidates.

There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 21,800. 16,141 votes were cast, the turnout was 74%. The number of valid votes was 16,098.

1893

The Center Party's internal conflict over the military bill led to the candidacy of two Center candidates. In addition to Lieber, who strictly rejected the military bill, Wilhelm Hohl was a candidate. This was supported by conservatives, NLP and liberalism.

There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 22,301. 18911 votes were cast, the turnout was 84.8%. The number of valid votes was 18,864.

1898

In the Reichstag election in 1898 , the provincial leadership of the NLP decided not to nominate a candidate because of the hopelessness. The local electoral association did not follow suit and put up a candidate.

There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 23,290. 15821 votes were cast, the turnout was 67.9%. The number of valid votes was 15,768.

Replacement election on July 28, 1902

After Liebers death there was a replacement election. The BdL tried in vain to set up the Catholic captain von Graberg as a candidate against the official center candidate Dahlem.

There was only one ballot. The number of valid votes was 18,509.

The Bülow bloc, made up of NLP, German Conservatives, Free Conservatives, Freedom and BdL, put together a member of the Reich Party as a candidate.

There was only one ballot. The number of eligible voters was 25,597. 23,808 votes were cast, the turnout was 93%. The number of valid votes was 23,748.
