Career
Coming from the offspring of the EC Berlin Capitals , where he was first used in the senior team of the club in the 1999/00 season alongside the junior Bundesliga team, the attacker played in the Oberliga Nord for the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the 2000/01 season and had also an assignment with a DEL license for the Berlin Capitals. In the summer of 2001, the right-handed shooter moved to Augsburg, where he was used again with a DEL sponsorship license for the Augsburg Panthers in the German Ice Hockey League and for the regional league team of the Augsburg EV. In the summer of 2002, Röthke moved back to Berlin to join the Eisbären , where he was again used in the 2nd Bundesliga for the ETC Crimmitschau in the 2002/03 season with a DEL funding license .
In the 2003/04 season , the striker moved to Hamburg, where he went on the ice for the Hamburg Freezers . In the summer of 2004 René Röthke signed a contract with the Hannover Scorpions , from which he was granted a production license for REV Bremerhaven . On November 2, 2006, the attacker was appointed to the German national team for the first time . After his contract in Hanover was not extended, the Berliner moved to the league competitor ERC Ingolstadt , where he initially received a one-year contract. Since the 2009/10 season , the striker has also played for the Straubing Tigers in the DEL and appears with the number 91 on his back. Röthke played his best season in the DEL in terms of scorer points in 2009/10, and his contract was extended by one year after the season. René Röthke's contract with the Straubing Tigers was officially extended on December 8, 2011 for a further 2 years until 2014.
At the turn of the year 2018, Röthke said goodbye to his fans because after nine years in the Straubing Tigers jersey he had not received a contract for the coming season. On January 24, 2018, Röthke's immediate change to the top division club Deggendorfer SC was announced, where he and his team became vice-champions as an important performer.
