The Chicago police officer Tony Church is dismissed and has since worked as a private investigator. Prostitute Della Roberts is caught in a drug crime in a hotel and is taken hostage. Church saves her and later protects her from the hit man Dancer. Roberts and Church get closer. In the end, Dancer is killed and Church is rehabilitated.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on January 29, 1988 that in the film a relationship collides with a cliché that ultimately prevails. The film made according to a formula of the police films is not ambitious.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a "thriller with comedic elements" . He “relies on the traction of his main actors” and cares little “about criminalistic logic” . In “some moments” he was “too brutal and trigger-happy” .

Awards

Liza Minnelli received the Golden Raspberry in 1989 . Burt Reynolds was nominated for the Golden Raspberry.
