history

The first documentary evidence relates to the year 1338. Around 1500 the place belongs to the tenth of those "von Winter". In 1510 there is only one house left in Rinthe. In 1518 the place was desolate. The resettlement began in 1538, and in 1781 Rinthe came to the Berghausen school. In 1819 this changes to the Dotzlar district. In 1845 Rinthe was again assigned to the Berghausen office.

Since the territorial reform that came into force on January 1, 1975, the place has belonged to the Bad Berleburg urban area and was an independent municipality of the Berghausen office in the then Wittgenstein district until it was incorporated .
