Robert Mailhouse

Robert Kenneth Mailhouse (born January 22, 1962 in New Haven , Connecticut ) is an American actor and musician / drummer .

Life

After Mailhouse graduated from Suffield Academy, where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts , he took on the role of Brian Scofield from 1990 to 1992 in the US soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht, which has been running since 1965 . For his performance in this soap he was awarded a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1992 in the category “Outstanding Comical Achievement” .

In the 1994 action film Speed , Mailhouse had a small role as a junior manager. He also appeared in the sitcom Seinfeld in 1995. He was then seen in various guest roles in other television series, such as Picket Fences - Tatort Gartenzaun (1996), Melrose Place (1997), Caroline in the City (1997), Dharma & Greg (1999). In between he played the bodyguard of Brian Cox played by Brian Cox in the 1996 thriller Glimmer Man . In the justice series Just in Case Amy with Amy Brenneman and Tyne Daly , he appeared in an episode in 2002 as David Humboldt. This was followed by an appearance in the crime television series CSI: Vegas in 2003 and in CSI: Miami and CSI: NY in 2005 . In the 2007 Christmas film All I want for Christmas , Mailhouse starred opposite Gail O'Grady . He contributed the music to the short film The Triumph of Spärhusen (2009), which won a Webby Award , took on a role alongside Keanu Reeves and appeared as executive producer. This was followed in 2010 by the short film Spärhusen Plays The Egyptian . A Christmas Pageant was another Christmas film that Mailhouse starred in 2011, this time alongside Melissa Gilbert . In 2014 he starred in the romantic comedy How to Make Love Like an Englishman on the side of Pierce Brosnan , Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba .

Mailhouse played drums in the grunge rock band Dogstar from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, with whom he released the title Quattro Formaggi in 1995, the album Our Little Visionary in 1996 and Happy Ending in 2000 . The band primarily attracted attention because of their bassist, Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. In 2002 Mailhouse released a music video on Goldfinger called Open Your Eyes . The band also toured with Bon Jovi and has appeared in the Tonight Show and Late Show of David Letterman . In 2009/2010 Mailhouse composed the music for the award-winning web series Easy to Assemble with Illeana Douglas . The series received a Streamy Award for Best Ensemble in 2010 . In addition to drums, Mailhouse also plays the piano and has appeared in various bands as a keyboardist .
