Robert Sabadoš ( Serbian - Cyrillic Роберт Сабадос ; born November 26, 1989 in Subotica , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHK Red Star Belgrade since the beginning of 2017 and plays with the club in the International Hockey League .
Career
Robert Sabadoš began his career as a hockey player in HK Vojvodina Novi Sad , for whom he made his debut in the Serbian ice hockey league when he was just 17 years old . In 2008 he moved to local rivals HK Novi Sad , who, however, stopped playing in 2009. He then went to KHK Red Star Belgrade and played for the capital club in the Hungarian U20 league, at the same time he was also on the ice for HK Spartak Subotica in the Serbian league. In 2010 he moved to Slovenia and played a year for HDD Bled in the Slohokej League . He then worked for the Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák for three years in the MOL league , which he won with the Hungarians in 2012 and 2013. In addition, he won two Hungarian championships (2013 and 2014) and cup winners (2012 and 2014) with the Donaustadt team . Despite these successes, he left Dunaújváros in 2014 and joined Tisza Volán Szeged , who play as a Hungarian club in the Serbian league. There he only played two games and moved on to KHK Roter Stern Belgrade in 2014, for whom he played until 2016. He then joined the MOL league club HK Belgrade , but switched back to the Red Star in early 2017. Since the beginning of the 2017 season he has been playing with the Red Star in the International Hockey League .
International
For Serbia, Sabadoš took part in the junior division of the U18 World Cup in 2007 in Division II and the U20 World Championships in 2007 and 2009 in Division II and in 2008 in Division III.
In the men's division, Sabadoš played for the Serbian team at the World Championships in 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 in Division II. In addition, he competed in the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang for its colors on the ice.
