Rodniki ( Russian Родники ) is a Russian city with 26,310 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010) in the Ivanovo Oblast . It is the center of the Oblast Rajons of the same name .
location
Rodniki is located about 600 km northeast of Moscow and 54 km east of the regional capital Ivanovo , on the river Yukscha from the river system of the Volga . The nearest town is Witschuga, 15 km to the northeast. Rodniki has several natural mineral water springs , from which it owes its name (Rodniki = "water sources").
history
Rodniki was first mentioned in 1606 as a village that had belonged to the Suzdal convent for protection and intercession . From the 17th to the 18th centuries Rodniki was economically insignificant, until the end of the 18th century there arose the first textile companies, focusing on the processing of the crops grown in the area around Rodniki Leines specialized. A textile factory was founded there in 1820, which later with around 10,000 employees was one of the largest of its kind in the Russian Empire . After the October Revolution in 1917, the factory was nationalized and later converted into a combine , the place received city rights in 1918.

Economy and Infrastructure
Today there is mainly food and textile industries in the city, the latter is represented by the former manufactory founded in 1820 (today: Aktiengesellschaft Rodniki-Textil ). There is also a mechanical engineering company in Rodniki.
In Rodniki there is a 350 meter high transmission mast for VHF and TV, which was erected in 1977.
