Rosmart is a district of the city of Altena in the western Sauerland , North Rhine-Westphalia . Rosmart is the most southeastern part of Altena and is located on the city limits to the district town of Lüdenscheid and the neighboring town of Werdohl . Until December 31, 1968 Rosmart belonged to the formerly independent municipality of Lüdenscheid-Land .

Infrastructure

In this three-city corner, the intermunicipal industrial area Rosmart has been created in recent years thanks to the convenient location on Rosmarter Allee. The actual village of Rosmart is to the east of the Rosmart Business Park and consists mainly of detached single-family houses. Due to this rather thin settlement, the entire district looked even more rural until a few years ago. The nearest schools and churches as well as shops are still only in the nearby Rahmedetal , in Lüdenscheid and in Werdohl .

The next university of applied sciences is the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences . It maintains locations at the nearby Lüdenscheid train station and in the cities of Hagen and Iserlohn, which are easily accessible via the motorway . In the nearby Lüdenscheid districts of Bellmerei, Timberg and Wettringhof there have been large industrial companies for several years. These arguments also spoke in favor of the settlement of a business park at this point in the previously rather rural Rosmart.

Beginnings

A few years ago a fire station was built on the site of the new industrial area. The fire station had become necessary at the time, because in the event of a fire the existing fire brigades in Altena , Lüdenscheid or Werdohl would have been too far away for an extinguishing operation.

2012

As early as October 2012, the newspaper "Westfälische Rundschau" announced that there were several investors interested in a total of more than two hectares of commercial space. According to the city administration of Lüdenscheid, talks are already underway. In addition, attempts have been made since summer 2012 to market the commercial space internationally.

2013

According to a report in the newspaper "Westfälische Rundschau" from January 2, 2013, a new central district control center for the fire brigade may also be built in the Rosmart industrial park. The new building is to be built because the previous fire service service center in Iserlohn and the district control center in Lüdenscheid have massive space problems in their buildings. In addition, thanks to the large open spaces in the area, the central training facility for the fire brigades of the Märkischer Kreis can also be attached to the site.

On January 18, 2013, another report appeared in the "Süderländer Volksfreund", from which it emerged that, according to the management, there could be several marketing successes in 2013 in the intermunicipal industrial area Rosmart. This involves expansions and relocations of companies. Corresponding discussions are currently being held by the management of the business park, including with a company that is already based in the business park. Concrete results can be expected in the course of the first quarter of 2013. The construction of a new hall, which is currently being built by a sanitary company, is also making good progress.

The Lüdenscheider Nachrichten published another report on February 2, 2013 that a Lüdenscheider forwarding company is planning a new building on Rosmarter Allee. Today the company has around 35 employees and a fleet of 30 of its own vehicles. Therefore, the expansion of the company headquarters is urgently needed. The current location at the Gutenberg street in the district Lüdenscheider Gevelndorf had become too small. In the medium term, a warehouse and an office wing for the forwarding company are planned on the 4700 square meter property. Possibly. A training center is to be built at the new location in Rosmart.

On November 27, 2013, the Lüdenscheider Nachrichten announced that another Lüdenscheider company was moving from Nottebohmstrasse on the Kalve to Rosmart. The company has bought a 9,600 square meter area in the Rosmart industrial park and plans to build a new building on it in the next two to three years. The planning for the new building should begin in November 2013 and earthworks are planned on the acquired site from 2014. With the new company building and the expansion in Rosmart, the company wants to be able to react even more flexibly to the requirements of its customers. The company may also want to add another hall if necessary.

2014

On December 3, 2014, the city council of Altena announced that another company with 25 employees would move to Rosmart.

On December 18, 2014, a company already based in Rosmart announced that it would redeem a purchase option for the adjacent property. The company plans to pay the purchase price for the 15,000 m² area in 2014.

The plumbing company already located in Rosmart also bought a plot of land opposite its existing hall in December 2014. The company plans to move all of its activities from the village of Rosmart to the Rosmart business park by 2016.

The Rosmart business park will therefore probably not make any losses in 2014 and the shareholders Altena, Werdohl and Lüdenscheid will not have to compensate for any losses in the business park, as was the case several times in previous years.

In the last few years the company of the business park and the politicians have emphasized several times that the Rosmart business park is intended to appeal to both domestic and international companies.

2015

In January 2015, Märkische Gewerbepark Rosmart GmbH (MGR) sold its third property within a few weeks. A Lüdenscheid forwarding company has acquired two plots totaling 6,700 square meters. Through an acquisition, the company has grown to more than 80 employees and wants to expand even further. The company sees various advantages in Rosmart in the central location, the technical equipment, the convenient transport links to the A 45 and the freedom of design on the site. The previous areas were no longer sufficient to expand the company. That is why the company has also negotiated the option of an additional space in Rosmart. In addition, the company wants to have storage space in Rosmart in the medium term. In addition, there will be an expanded range of training courses in the logistics sector in Rosmart and a workshop that will initially be operated by the company itself. The company will move to the Rosmart business park by the end of 2015 at the latest.

At the end of August 2015 it was announced that another company from Neuenrade is planning to settle in the Rosmart industrial park. For this purpose, the company has acquired a plot of land of around 1000 square meters in the intermunicipal industrial park Rosmart. The managing director of the Society for Economic and Structural Development in the Märkischer Kreis (GWS) sees the sale of the property as evidence of increasing demand. At the same time, Märkische Gewerbepark Rosmart GmbH announced that there are currently further interested parties for properties in the industrial area.

Worth seeing

The panoramic view of the surrounding forests and mountains is one of the most beautiful in the area. The area is also made accessible by numerous hiking trails. In addition, the 32 km long Drahthandelsweg leads through Rosmart. The Fuelbecketalsperre, which opened in 1897, is located below the Rosmart district . This also offers an interesting scenic circular route. The dam is still used today by the Altena municipal utilities to supply drinking water .

The houses in the village of Rosmart itself offer an interesting contrast to the nearby industrial park. The village used to be very agricultural. This has partly subsided in the last few decades due to the further development of the surrounding area. However, to this day there are still some farms and fields in the vicinity. In summer, strawberry picking is offered to the public on the Rosmart fields.

Rail transport

The closest train stations are Lüdenscheid and Werdohl stations . Both can be easily reached by car or bus in a few minutes.

Bus transport

The district is connected to local public transport by bus routes S2 (express bus route), 43 (city bus route), 237 and 243 (school bus routes ) operated by Märkische Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) .

Important bus stops in the district are: “Abzw. Horst ”,“ Rosmart ”,“ Abzw. Brenge ”,“ Brunscheid ”and“ Gockeshohl ”.

Road traffic

The connection to the federal motorway network is via the nearby exit No. 14 Lüdenscheid of the federal motorway 45 . This leads north to Hagen and Dortmund and south to Siegen , Wetzlar , Gießen and Frankfurt am Main . Another junction is exit no. 13 Lüdenscheid-Nord and exit no. 15 Lüdenscheid-Süd of the A 45. The B 229 federal road is also below Rosmart and can be easily reached within a few minutes by car. Parking spaces within Rosmart ensure that drivers can park there.
