Round Hill is a small town in Loudoun County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Virginia . In 2000 Round Hill lived 500 people; by the official estimate in 2009, the population had increased to 759.
history
It is known that the first settlers settled in what was then called Woodgrove around 1730. In 1875 the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad was extended to Round Hill, making Round Hill a popular destination. The Round Hill Methodist Church opened in 1889, and a few years later, in 1905, the Baptist Church opened.
In 1900 the city was incorporated. A year later, the streets in Round Hill were named and the first taxes were collected, at that time they were 50 cents per capita. The Citizens Bank opened in 1907, but had to close again three years later. Another bank opened in 1923. Electric street lighting was introduced in 1919.
In 2000 Round Hill celebrated its 100th anniversary as a city.
