Ruda is a district of the municipality of Krouna in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northeast of Svratka and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

The scattered settlement Ruda is located to the left of the Čachnovský potok brook in the north of the Saar Mountains ( Žďárské vrchy ) in the protected landscape area CHKO Žďárské vrchy . The extensive wooded area of ​​the Karlstein Forest extends to the south. The Svitavy – Žďárec u Skutče railway runs one and a half kilometers to the north . To the east rises the Plotník (706 m nm), in the southeast the Bukovina (756 m nm) and the Spálený kopec (766 m nm).

Neighboring towns are Pustá Kamenice , Radčany and Na Kopci in the north, Bukovina in the Northeast, Plotnik, Cerkytle and Borová in the east, Bukovina, Blatina, Damašek and Březiny the southeast, České Křižánky and Karlštejn in the south, Naděje and Svratouch in the southwest, Čachnov in the West as well as Pleskotka, Porostliny and Pec in the northwest.

history

Ruda was probably founded in the 15th century in the course of the establishment of an iron ore mine as a settlement of miners in the forests belonging to the Richenburg domain . The name of the settlement is derived from the Czech word for ore. The iron ore mine was shut down in 1829 due to a lack of water and completely abandoned in 1834.

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim District Dominikaldorf location Ruda or Rudda of 18 houses where 96 people lived. There was a mill in the village. The residents were mostly former miners who now lived from flax and potato cultivation, day labor and some trade. A large ping filled with water testified to the mine ; Halden and partly still open shafts and tunnels in the village and the adjacent forest. Ruda was subordinate to the court in Čachnow . The parish was Wüst Kamenitz . In 1843 the village had grown to 108 inhabitants. Until the mid-19th century remained Ruda of domination Richburg servants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ruda formed a district of the municipality Čachnov in the judicial district of Hlinsko from 1849 . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 Ruda had 111 inhabitants and consisted of 19 houses. In 1900 there were 95 people in Ruda, in 1910 there were 99. In 1930 Ruda had 107 inhabitants. In 1949 the village was assigned to the Okres Polička, since 1961 it has belonged again to the Okres Chrudim. On January 1, 1976, it was incorporated into Krouna. In the 2001 census, 13 people lived in Ruda's 18 houses.
