Rudolf Tyrolt (born November 23, 1848 in Rottenmann , Styria , † June 22, 1929 in Gutenstein , Lower Austria ) was an Austrian actor and writer.

Life

Rudolf Tyrolt, son of the incapable Imperial and Royal Finance Councilor Anton Tyrolt and his wife Louise, first attended the Ober-Gymnasium Preßburg , in 1859 he came to the Graflich Löwenburg'sche Piaristenkonvikt (actually: Löwenburg'sches scholarship in the Piaristenkonvikt ) in Vienna-Josefstadt , where he enthusiastically participated in the carnival comedy play. In 1861 Tyrolt came to the Benedictine Convict Melk , returned in 1862 to the Preßburger Gymnasium and graduated in 1866. In connection with the retirement of the father, the family moved to Graz during the confusion of the lost battle near Königgrätz , where Tyrolt attended the local university initially studied jurisprudence, but later decided on philosophy and on October 6, 1870, was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate.

During his studies in Graz, where he became a member of Arminia Graz in 1869/70, after a short period of time with the Styria academic fraternity , Tyrolt developed a closeness to his own through his local relatives, but especially through student relationships sought-after stage and writing environment represented by important personalities. Tyrolt repeatedly met Friedrich Mitterwurzer (1844–1897), Friedrich Marx (1830–1905), Ludwig Martinelli (1832–1913), Johann Daniel Ludwig Löwe (1795–1871), Franz Wallner (1810–1876), Peter Rosegger, among others (1843–1918) and Josefine Gallmeyer (1838–1884). His own talent as an (amateur) actors could Tyrolt through appearances on lovers platforms evolve.

Just two days after completing his doctorate, on October 8, 1870, Tyrolt took the stage at the Graz scenic theater . In October 1870 from Graz to Franz Czernits (1814-1894) at the Stadttheater Olmütz , he joined the Royal City Theater , directed by Adolf Franckel (1821-1896), from Easter 1871 . in Brno . From the opening evening on September 15, 1872 to 1884, he was engaged at the Vienna City Theater, where his art was shaped by Heinrich Laube (1806–1884), from 1884 to the end of 1888 at the Burgtheater (1887 kuk court actor), from 1889 at the German Volkstheater and also at the theater in der Josefstadt . He had guest appearances on the stages in Graz and Linz ; from 1889/90 he was professor at the Vienna Conservatory .

Tyrolt was known for depicting Viennese folk types.

As Der alten Grutz in Karl Schönherr's comedy Earth , Tyrolt ended his acting career on December 19, 1926, in accordance with a promise made to his wife for the golden wedding anniversary and retired to his Gutenstein villa. A few weeks before his death, Tyrolt developed a bruise into his brain . After a short recovery phase, during which the actor paid a visit to his friends at the Deutsches Volkstheater, Rudolf Tyrolt, the last great people's actor , suffered another stroke, which he suffered two weeks later, in the presence of his wife, the Prussian court actress, who was married in 1875 Ernestine (Erna) Wiehler (born  June 1,  1850 in Leipzig , †  February 17,  1930 in Gutenstein), succumbed. He was buried for rest on June 24, 1929 in Gutenstein.

In 1930 a traffic area in Vienna- Meidling was named Tyroltgasse .
