Secretaría de Desarrollo Social
The Secretaría de Desarrollo Social (SEDESOL) is the political "secretariat (of the government) for social development" in Mexico , comparable to a corresponding state ministry (~ ministry of social affairs ).
It was expanded in 1959 as the “Secretariat for public buildings” ( Spanish : Secretaría de Obras Públicas ) and in 1976 for the first time to become the “Secretariat for human living space and public buildings” (Spanish: Secretaría de Asentamientos Humanos y Obras Públicas ). In 1982 it was reclassified to the “Secretariat for Urban and Ecological Development” (Spanish: Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Ecología ). The organ has had its current name since 1992.
To fulfill its tasks, SEDOSOL is divided into three sub-secretariats ( Subsecretaría ) for "Social and Human Development" ( Desarrollo Social y Humano ), "Urban Development and Territorial Spatial Planning" ( Urbano y Ordenación del Territorio ) and for " Future Research , Planning and Development" ( Prospectiva, Planeación y Evaluación ).
