Sabine Berg (* 1958 in Basel ) is a German actress .

Life

Education and theater

Sabine Berg, born in Switzerland , studied acting from 1980 to 1983 at the Folkwang University of the Performing Arts in Essen .

She then worked in German-speaking countries mainly as a theater actress . She had first guest engagements at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus / Kampnagel (1985), at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg (1985; as chambermaid Sophie in Kabale und Liebe , director: Peter Striebeck ) and at the Schauspielhaus Zürich (1986–1987; as Pegeen's friend in Der Held der western world , director: Christoph Marthaler / Urs Schaub ).

From 1988 to 1995 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , where she played numerous roles in classical and modern theater literature. There she worked with directors such as Herbert König , Wilfried Minks , David Mouchtar-Samorai , Werner Schroeter , Wolf Seesemann , Wolf-Dietrich Sprenger , BK Tragelehn , Friederike Vielstich and Gábor Zsámbéki .

Her stage roles during her engagement in Düsseldorf included u. a. Manola in Dona Rosita remains single from Federico García Lorca (1988; director: W. Schroeter), Marie in Katzelmacher (1990; director: W. Schroeter), Tonka in hunting scenes from Lower Bavaria (1991; director: W. Seesemann), Christine in Liebelei (1991; director: Ms. Vielstich), the title role in Penthesilea (1992; director: H. König), Sonja in Onkel Wanja (1992; director: W.-D. Sprenger), bride in Ein Traumspiel (1993; director : D. Mouchtar-Samorai), Luise in Kabale und Liebe (1993; director: Ms. Vielstich) and Ingrid in Peer Gynt (1994; director: D. Mouchtar-Samorai).

In the 1996/97 season she was a guest at the Schauspielhaus Zürich as Natascha in Drei Schwestern (director: Dieter Giesing ). In the 1997/98 season she had a guest engagement at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin , where, again under Giesing's direction, she embodied Mrs. Palm in a stage version of Ingmar Bergman's film Scenes from a Marriage . In the 2000/01 season she was again a guest at the Schauspielhaus Zürich, as Dora in Marija by Isaak Babel (director: D. Giesing).

Movie and TV

She has also worked in almost 50 cinema and television productions. Her cinema work included productions from German and Swiss cinema. She played u. a. directed by Michael Verhoeven , Tomy Wigand , Angelina Maccarone , Vanessa Jopp and Wolfgang Panzer .

Sabine Berg was nominated for the European Film Award for “Best Supporting Actress” for Andy Bausch's film A Wopbobaloobop a Lopblösungen (1989) , in which she played alongside Nikolas Lansky . In 1991 she played the role of radio reporter Florentine in the hit movie Manta, Manta . In the movie Engel & Joe (2001) she played Meret, the overwhelmed mother of the female main character, 15-year-old Johanna ("Joe"). In the movie Thousand Oceans (2008), she portrayed the ambulance doctor Nina Neureuther at the side of Max Riemelt . In the Swiss-German cinema production Der große Kater (2010) she played Queen Sophia of Spain .

In the Wilsberg crime thriller Der Minister und das Mädchen (first broadcast: February 2004), she played Mechthild Kerstenbrock, who hired private detective Georg Wilsberg to find out whether an accusation against her husband ( Peter Prager ), who is currently in the local election campaign, is true corresponds. In the crime scene: Erntedank e. V. (first broadcast: March 2008), she had a supporting role as the suspect Regina Zacher, whose husband disappeared without a trace many years ago.

She has also had roles in several crime and television series.
