The Sasselbach rises in the Sachsenberger Leimestruth . Its source is about 150 m north of the edge of the village of the Vöhler district Buchenberg , between the county road  51 ( Fürstenberg –Buchenberg) in the west and the state road  3084 ( Herzhausen –Buchenberg– Niederorke ) in the east. Shortly after crossing under the K 85 (Niederorke - Ederbringhausen ) , the Sasselbach flows into Ederbringhausen at about 258  m above sea level in the Orke coming from the north-west , which in turn feeds the Eder 950  meters below it .
