The 2015/16 Saudi Professional League was the 41st season of the highest Saudi Arabian soccer league since its official introduction in 1976. The season began on August 19, 2015 and ended on May 13, 2016. The defending champion was al-Nasr .
Al-Ahli became champions for the third time and qualified together with al-Hilal and Ittihad FC for the 2017 AFC Champions League . Al-Taawon started as a league rank in qualifying for the Champions League .
The Najran SC and the Hajer Club had to relegate directly to the Saudi First Division . The two relegation games between al-Raed and the 3rd of the Saudi First Division 2015/16, al-Batin , took place on May 19 and 26, 2016. The first division club secured relegation.

Relegation
The 12th of the Saudi Professional League 2015/16 played against the 3rd of the Saudi First Division 2015/16 in a play-off round with a round trip for relegation . The first leg took place on May 19 and the second leg on May 26, 2016. The winner qualified for the Saudi Professional League 2016/17 .
