The Schlierbachswald is one to 477.5 m above sea level. NN high low mountain range in the north Hessian Werra-Meißner district .
Geographical location
The Schlierbachswald is located between Wanfried in the northeast, Treffurt in the east, Ringgau in the south, Wehretal in the west and Eschwege in the northwest, and in the northeast the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal nature park joins on the other side of the Werra . In the transition area to the southern plateau of the Ringgau with the Rabenkuppe lies Weißenborn , to the southeast the Heldrastein rises up. In the west, the low mountain range borders on the valley of the weirs . The Schlierbach flows through it ; both are left-hand tributaries of the Werra .

Numerous forest and hiking trails lead from the surrounding villages through the predominantly wooded ridge (mixed beech forest). The excursion destinations and facilities in the landscape include: the forester's lodge Schlierbach near Oberdünzebach , the Auer Blick as a vantage point over the Eschweger basin with the adjoining mountainous area, the Berlin Tower as an observation tower in the western foothills of the Schlierbachswald near Datterode and the Lotzenkopf (approx. 466 m ) as the north-west pillar of the mountain ridge with the Schneiderstein .
