Schwaighausen is a district of the market Dentlein am Forst in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Leitenbach , which feeds the Walkweiher and Neumühleweiher further south and flows into the Sulzach as a left tributary , and on the Kaltengrundgraben, which feeds the Leitenweiher and flows into the Leitenbach as a left tributary. The place lies in a forest clearing: in the south lies the Angerholz, in the southwest the Dornholz, in the west the Stockholz, in the northwest the Hintere Forst and in the east the Saulach. A communal connecting road crosses the AN 53 district road to Wehlmäusel (2.6 km west).

history

Schwaighausen was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 7 properties with 11 teams and 1 shepherd's house of the commune and the ruinous chapel Heilig Kreuz or Zirkelkappel. The landlords were the Feuchtwangen monastery administrator (1 half-yard with double crew, 3 estates) and the imperial city of Dinkelsbühl (2 yards with double crew, 1 half-yard with double crew). Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in the village, 5 of which were under the Feuchtwangen monastery administration office.

With the community edict (early 19th century) Schwaighausen was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Dentlein.

Architectural and ground monument

  • Chapel field: Chapel ruins, so-called Zirkelkappel, remains of a chapel with a round west tower, quarry stone masonry, probably 15th century. Medieval and early modern findings at the same time.
