biography

Sean Tyas is from Long Island in New York . He first came into contact with electronic music in 1991 at the age of 11 when he received a cassette with various mixes from Apotheosis - O'Fortuna . As a result, he began to be interested in techno and bought numerous techno CDs. Around the year 2000/2001 he began to produce music himself on MS-DOS for the first time with the tracker software Impulse Tracker .

In 2004 Tyas moved to Germany, where he produced music for DJ Beam . He soon found a better opportunity in Switzerland, where he could concentrate more on his own productions and remixes and co-produced some successful singles with Dave202 . As a product of this move, he released the EP Mirella , named after his wife, a native of Switzerland.

His breakthrough in the trance scene came in 2006 when he won the remix competition for Sander van Doorn's single Punk'd and signed a contract with the Discover music label . His first single Lift on this label was named Tune of the Week by Armin van Buuren on his radio show A State of Trance and also appeared on numerous compilations.

Tyas has a weekly radio show called Tytanium Sessions on the internet radio station afterhours.fm , which is also available as a podcast on iTunes . At the end of June 2011, he celebrated the 100th episode of his radio show with a club tour in Montreal , Miami and New York . In July 2011 he founded his own music label called Tytanium Recordings and released By the Way, the first single on his own label.

In 2010, Tyas came in 46th in the selection of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs .
