Żytowań (German Seitwann , Lower Sorbian Žytowań ) is a village in the Gmina Gubin in the Lubusz Voivodeship . It belongs to the eastern Lower Lusatia . In 2013, 117 people lived there.
The place is located directly on the Neisse , on the border with Germany , 9 kilometers north of Gubin . A bridge leads to Coschen .
history
The place was first mentioned as Sythewin in 1370 . Since then it has belonged to the Neuzelle monastery , but was mostly in the possession of the von Bomsdorff , von Steinkeller, von Maxen and von Blauen families . Since 1817, after the secularization of the monastery, it has belonged to worldly owners.
In 1896 a wooden bridge was built to Coschen , which was set on fire in 1945 and destroyed. The village has belonged to Poland since 1945. In 2014 a new bridge (Neisse wave) was built.
