Semih Kaya (born February 24, 1991 in Bergama ) is a Turkish football player who has played for Sparta Prague since 2017 .
Family and childhood
Kaya was born to Macedonian Turks in the western Turkish city of Bergama . Both strands of the family emigrated from what is now Macedonia to Turkey. His parents' families came from Skopje .
Career
society
When he was ten, Semih Kaya started his football career at Petkimspor. After a year he moved to Helvaci and played there for a season and a half until he moved to Altay İzmir and played there for 2 years. After a game between Altay İzmir's youth teams and Galatasaray Istanbul , Galatasaray Semih Kaya took on. In the 2008/09 season he was appointed to the 1st team by Michael Skibbe . His first game for Galatasaray was on January 17, 2009 in the Turkish Cup and on April 19, 2009 he made his debut against Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor in the Turkcell Süper Lig .
For the second half of the 2009/10 season , Kaya was awarded to Gaziantepspor . Gaziantepspor had a purchase option on him. The 2010/11 season Kaya played for the second division Kartalspor .
His breakthrough at Galatasaray came in the 2011/12 season when he ousted Servet Çetin and was able to play his way into the regular formation. This season he was able to win the championship with his team. For the 2017/18 season, Kaya moved to Sparta Prague . At the end of the 2018/19 season, Kaya became Turkish champion for the fourth time.
National team
Starting with the Turkish U-15 national team, Kaya went through almost all age groups of the Turkish national team. After working for the Turkish U-21 national team from 2009 to 2011 , he also started playing for the Turkish national team from 2012 . Kaya made his debut for the senior national team on February 29, 2012 in a friendly against Slovakia.
At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Turkish squad . However, like two other field players from the squad, he was not used in the tournament.
