Sencenac-Puy-de-Fourches ( Occitan Cencenac e Puei de Forchas ) is a former French community with 236 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) of the North department Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). The municipality belonged to the Arrondissement Nontron (until 2015 Périgeux ) and the canton Brantôme .

Sencenac-Puy-de-Fourches is fourteen kilometers north-north-west of Périgueux in the Périgord .

history
In 1829 the municipalities of Sincenac and Puy-de-Fourches merged under the name Sencenac-Puy-de-Fourches.
The decree of November 6, 2018, with effect from January 1, 2019, incorporated Sencenac-Puy-de-Fourches as a Commune déléguée together with the former municipalities of Brantôme en Périgord , Eyvirat , La Gonterie-Boulouneix , Saint-Crépin-de- Richemont , Cantillac and Valeuil for the new Commune nouvelle Brantôme en Périgord .
Population development
After records began, the population rose to a high of around 505 in the first half of the 19th century. In the period that followed, a phase of stagnation set in, with the number of inhabitants falling to around 175 after a short recovery period by the 1980s before a period of moderate growth set in.
