Serafima Andreevna Gromova
Serafima Andrejewna Gromowa ( Russian Серафима Андреевна Громова ; born June 14, 1923 in the village of Orlovka, Ujesd Bobrov ; † September 16, 2013 in Zelenograd ) was a Soviet - Russian electrical engineer .
Life
Even as a student, Gromova was interested in mathematics , physics and astronomy . At the beginning of the German-Soviet War , she wanted to join the Red Army with her friends , but because of their youth they were initially not accepted. They then took part in OSSOAWIACHIM courses and learned first aid and how to assemble the rifle in the special camp . At the beginning of 1942 they were accepted into the 7th Air Defense Division. Gromowa experienced her first combat mission as the commander of an observation post at a train station west of Voronezh on July 4, 1942. After the Battle of Stalingrad , she took part in the Battle of Kursk and then moved with her post in the course of the war to Fastiv southwest of Kiev in front. In August 1945 she was demobilized as a private .
In September 1946, Gromova began studying at the State University of Saratov in the mechanics - Faculty . After graduating in 1951, she was employed as a master craftsman in the secret factory No. 92 in Novosibirsk . She became a specialist in the electronic systems of anti- aircraft and missile defense systems and in 1958 head of the test department. In 1966 she became the production manager at Factory No. 26 in Fryazino . From 1968 she worked as a deputy chief engineer in the development of new weapon systems at the Mion plant in Minsk .
In 1971 Gromowa became head of final assembly at the Mikron microelectronics plant in Zelenograd, which was founded in 1964 . She participated in the development of the control systems for the Buran space shuttle , which was built in 1986 and flew in 1988. In 1994 she retired.
In retirement, Gromova dealt with issues relating to the military-patriotic upbringing of children and young people and took part in relevant government and local authority activities.
