Serdar Semiz (born April 15, 1982 in Huddinge , Sweden ) is a Swedish - Turkish ice hockey player who has been under contract with IFK Tumba since 2014 and has been playing with the club in hockeyettan , the third highest division in Sweden, since 2016 .

Career

Serdar Semiz, who was born to Turkish parents in Huddinge, Sweden, in the southern outskirts of Stockholm , began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Flemmingsberg IK. At the age of 17 he switched to AIK Solna . With the U20 team of the club he played in the J20 SuperElit , the highest junior league in Sweden. During his time with the AIK youngsters, he also started playing in the men's team of the Stockholm district club Mälarhöjden / Bredäng . There he was - with the exception of the 2003/04 season, when his club was relegated to Division 2 - until the end of 2007 in Division 1 , the third highest division in the country, on the ice. In the middle of the 2007/08 season he moved to league rivals Botkyrka HC . In 2009 he moved to the land of his ancestors to join the Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt SK , for whom he played in the super league as well as for the İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK . International

In the Turkish national team , Semiz was used for the first time at the 2012 World Cup in Division III, where he was promoted to Division II with the team from the Bosporus. As the second-best goalscorer behind the Irish Gareth Roberts, he had contributed significantly to this success. There the striker played at the World Cup in 2013 , 2014 , when he was voted the best player on his team, but could not avoid relegation, and 2017 .
