Sexy as Hell (Engl; 'Hellishly sexy') is the sixth studio album by the German singer Sarah Connor . It was released on August 22, 2008 by X-Cell.
Seven years after its first release, the album was released together with Real Love in November 2015 as a box set 2 for 1 .

In 2007 Connor began recording her sixth studio album, Sexy as Hell . The title was taken from a song on the album. For the first time, one of her albums can be assigned to dance music . It also contains a mix of pop music with hip-hop and R&B elements. For her new sound, Connor was inspired by the music in the clubs. The music style is very different from their previous album Soulicious , which includes cover songs from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
Sarah Connor describes the new style of music as follows:
“I'm always on the lookout, want to redefine myself and my sound. The album is a sexy mix of pop music with hip hop and R&B elements. A really hot dance record, with great riffs and fat beats! The songs are sweet as sugar one moment and nasty the next - just like we girls are! "
For the album, Connor met with many producers from home and abroad as well as songwriters and held listening and jam sessions with them. Except for two songs, she wrote all the lyrics for the album herself. Connor wrote the pieces See You Later , Sexy as Hell and Under My Skin with the Danish producers Mikkel Remee Sigvardt and Thomas Troelsen, who produced the No. 1 hit Hot Summer . Under My Skin was released as the first single in advance. The single reached number four in the German hit parade.
On Mallorca Connor recorded the songs Act Like You and Touch with Bülent Aris . In Berlin, Sarah Connor worked with producers Marek Pompetzki and Paul NZA , who were previously active for Sido . They wrote the song Play for Connor , mixed the single Under My Skin and produced Fall Apart . The latter comes from the pen of the songwriter JR Rotem . In addition, Connor worked again with producers Rob Tyger and Kay Denar, as with their previous albums. With them she wrote the ballads Crazy in Love and I'll Kiss It Away . I'll Kiss It Away was the second and final single and is dedicated to Connor's daughter, who was born with a hole in her heart and had to undergo an operation shortly after birth. The single reached number 21 in the German single charts.
The album was released on August 22, 2008 and - supported by the TV show Sarah & Marc crazy in Love - made it to number three in the German album charts in the first week. On the Sexy as Hell tour, Connor presented the songs on the album live in 29 German cities from February to April 2009.

reception
Simon Müller from Laut.de gives the album two out of five possible points. He praises the songs Sexy as Hell and Under My Skin as cleanly produced, but writes that the meaningless sex singing degrades the songs to the usual pop average. In I'll Kiss It Away he praises Connor's singing talent, but says that the acoustic guitar and the far too high synth-plastic melody bite each other. The rest of the songs on the album are standard songs found on any average mainstream pop record.
Matthias Reichel from CDStarts.de awards five out of ten possible points. As with the previous Connor albums, there is again a lot of filling material and two or three songs with hit potential. The best song is I'll Kiss It Away . He also praises the first single Under My Skin and the dance track Play .
