Sarah Connor Tour Chronology
Sarah Connor on March 6, 2016 in Bremen

Mutterssprach Live is a concert tour by the German pop and soul singer Sarah Connor , which began on March 1, 2016 in Berlin. The tour schedule includes 27 indoor concerts in Germany and Austria until March 24, 2017 as well as several appearances at festivals and open air events between June – August 2016 & May – August 2017.

Background and course

In May 2015 Sarah Connor published with how beautiful you are , the first single of the album's German mother tongue . The album became a surprise hit. The autumn tour 2015 was completely sold out, whereupon a bigger hall tour was announced for March 2016 in August 2015.

According to the organizers, over 100,000 tickets were sold for the first part of the hall concerts. The first concert took place in front of 10,000 spectators in Berlin. The shows in Oberhausen and Hanover were sold out with around 11,000 and 4,000 visitors respectively. In Berlin and Bremen the singer performed in front of around 10,000 spectators, in Hamburg in front of around 8,000 spectators and in the other cities between 6,000 and 8,000.

In addition, the artist has announced that she will visit several festivals after the end of the hall concerts in summer 2016.

Due to the high demand, further hall concerts were announced for March 2017 in April 2016. The planned locations are partly those in which the 2016 tour will take place (Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart). Leipzig, Munich and Dortmund were named as new cities. Advance sales began on May 6, 2016.

As in the previous year, the 2017 tour part was again expanded with summer festival gigs and open air shows, in which Connor acts as co-headliner. Further solo concerts in Halle & Hanover have also been announced.

criticism

Sarah Connor with band

Reviews for the first part of the tour were positive. The Neue Presse wrote about her concert in Hanover: “Without any glittering rain and 20 different outfits, the singer with the soulful voice performed in front of 4,000 fans in the Swiss Life Hall. While the band didn't always shine, their voice was consistently on point - between heavy feelings, political statements and a fun cake fight. ”Kristina Bischoff also commented positively on the Hanover gig. "Sarah Connor inspires with a strong voice". The Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung wrote that it was better than ever. The opening show in Berlin was well received by the critics. The reviews for her concert in her hometown of Bremen were just as positive. André Havergo praised her singing, but also her personality, which would give viewers the feeling that Sarah Connor was "just" one of them.

“Der Westen.de” described her show in Oberhausen as thoughtful and approachable and praised her sympathy on stage. Stefan Berndt praised her concert in Mannheim, where she sang in front of 7,000 spectators, and noticed that she appeared artistically very mature. He called her a "master of her field". The newspaper Die Glocke praised Connor's concert in Halle / Westphalia . She called the singer to the 7,500 fans "open, honest and close to the people" and was positive about the setlist and the great voice of Connor.
