There he played between 1999 and 2002 and was selected during this time in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in 19th position in the first round of the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League . For the Bruins, the left shooter completed his first NHL appearances in 2002/03 , but he did not have the big breakthrough, so he spent most of his time with the Boston farm team , the Providence Bruins , in the American Hockey League and finally moved to Washington in 2004 .
After a good season with the Portland Pirates , the AHL farm team of the Capitals, during the NHL lockout 2004/05 , the Canadian will be part of the regular team in Washington from the 2005/06 season . By 2010 he completed over 400 games in the NHL for the Capitals, before his contract with these expired and Morrisonn was equipped as a free agent by the Buffalo Sabers with a two-year contract in August 2010 . In the first year of his contract he ran for the Sabers in the NHL, while in the second year he was exclusively for the farm team of the franchise, the Rochester Americans , in the American Hockey League.
After the contract with the Sabers expired, Morrisonn moved to Europe for the first time in his career and was signed by HK Spartak Moscow from the Continental Hockey League . For Spartak he completed 46 missions until January 2013, before he was given to HK CSKA Moscow , as Spartak no longer had a chance of reaching the play-offs. In June 2013 Morrisonn moved to TPS Turku from the Finnish Liiga , before he returned to the KHL in 2014 and signed a contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb . There he was always part of the squad for the next two and a half years before moving to Admiral Vladivostok within the KHL in December 2016 .
He played at Admiral until March 2018, before his contract and the contracts of five other players were canceled by the KHL due to a lack of salary payments. In July 2018 he joined the Ōji Eagles from Japan, with whom he played in the Asia League Ice Hockey .
International
Morrisonn received due to the regulations of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF due to his three-year stay with the Croatian club KHL Medveščak Zagreb the license to play for the Croatian national team . He represented them for the first time at the 2019 World Cup in Division IIA , where he was named the best defender after six scorer points in the tournament.
For his home country Canada, the defender only played games in the 2016 Spengler Cup for the so-called Team Canada .
