Shawn McLaws (born March 9, 1993 in Edmond , Oklahoma ) is an American football player in the position of defensive player . Since February 2016 he has been part of the Harrisburg City Islanders squad with play operations in the third-rate North American United Soccer League .

Career

Career start at home

Shawn McLaws was born on March 9, 1993 in the city of Edmond, part of Oklahoma County and the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City , in the US state of Oklahoma. On a club basis, he began his football career at Edmond Soccer Club 93 , with which he won the 2005 Oklahoma State Championship . A year later he was with his team in the final of the Oklahoma State Championship , but could not win it. He also played, especially during his high school years, at club level for the Celtic 93 Club Team , with whom he was three times in the USYSA State Finals and even made it into the USYSA Regional Quarter Finals in 2010 . He was also a member of the Celtic 93 team, which won the Region III Championship in 2009 and became USYSA ODP National Runner-Up . He was also a member of an ODP that toured Argentina . He spent his high school years at the same time at Deer Creek High School in his birthplace and hometown, where he also belonged to the school's football department. Under his coach there, Zach Stephens, he was a four-time letterman and achieved various individual successes, mainly due to his offensive strength. In his freshman year with the Deer Creek Antlers , he contributed ten goals and two assists to make it into the Oklahoma State semifinals and was voted Deer Creek High School Rookie of the Year at the end of the season. A year later he became one of the most dangerous players and was voted Deer Creek High School Offensive Player of the Year with 24 hits in his sophomore year and was in the all-district selection. With a further 24 goals and ten assists in his junior year, he again won the award for Deer Creek High School Offensive Player of the Year and was again in the all-district selection. That year he also won the District 2 Championship with the Antlers . Also in his final senior year, McLaws made another strong attack.

Transfer to Coastal Carolina University

Game year 2011

In 2011 he enrolled at Coastal Carolina University in Conway , South Carolina , not far from the Atlantic coast . He also joined the men's soccer team of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers sports department , where he was transformed into a defensive force. Under Shaun Docking , who has been coaching since 1998 and is only the fourth coach in the football team's history since 1978, he was used in 20 championship games in his freshman year, of which he started in 15. He remained goalless himself, but prepared six goals for his teammates, including assists for two game- winning goals scored by the future Brazilian professional Pedro Ribeiro . In the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship 2011 , the team did not get past the second round of Regional 1 , although they had the most dangerous player in the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Season 2011 with the Jamaican Ashton Bennett .

Game year 2012

Also in his sophomore year, McLaws, who achieved a 3.0 GPA , was on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll . This year he and his team were voted nationwide best team of the week (week 43) by Top Drawer Soccer, among others . This year he was mostly used as a right winger and contributed five assists in 25 championship appearances, including a game-winning goal from future professional Ricky Garbanzo . He gave a total of 28 shots on the opposing goal, whereas he made only three shots on goal in 2011; another record in his college career. In his team he was only one of three players who started in all 25 league games from the start; he himself played in 19 games over the full length of the game. Start into professional football
