Ciclova Română (German: Cameral Tschiklowa , Wallachisch Tschiklowa , Hungarian: Csiklófalu , Oláhcsiklova , Románcsiklova ) is a municipality in the Caraș-Severin County , Banat , Romania . The Ciclova Română municipality also includes the villages of Ilidia and Socolari .

Ciclova Română is located on the county road 571 Ciclova Montană - Oravița , at the foot of the Anina Mountains .

history

Archaeological excavations testify to a human settlement on the area of ​​the municipality of Ciclova Română already during the Hallstatt period . Other finds come from Roman times and the Middle Ages. A coin from the time of Karl Robert von Anjou was found in a medieval tomb from the 14th century.

A first documentary mention comes from the year 1437, when the Ban von Severin Thallowtz, reprimanded the widow Hym and arranged for the grain that was wrongly withheld from the farmers Mihail and Dunco from Chiglobanya to be returned. In 1464 the village of Cheglo belongs to the Ildia district. In 1538 there was a trial for properties from Chyglova . In the records of the historian Marsigli from 1690 to 1700, Csiklova is in the Palanka district. On the Josephine land survey of 1717, the place Siklova is registered with 166 houses. On the Mercy map from 1723 the place Cziklova in the Palanka district is noted. Ziklova is entered on the Griselini map from 1776 .

Wallachiach Cziklova is entered on the Josephine land survey of 1717 . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . From 1769 the village was part of the Banat military border . In 1885 Wallachiach Cziklova came into the possession of the Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company (StEG) . Iron ore was extracted in Ciclova, which was used in the Reșița blast furnaces .

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the division of the Banat into three parts , whereby Ciclova Română fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
