Naidăș ( German Nadasch or Nadosch , Hungarian Néranádas ) is a municipality in the Caraș-Severin district in the Banat region in southwest Romania . The village of Lescovița also belongs to the Naidăș municipality .

Geographical location

Naidăş is located in the southwest of the Caraş-Severin district, at the foot of the Locva Mountains .

history

A first documentary mention comes from the year 1378.

Nodosch is entered on the Josephine land survey of 1717 . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat .

Naidăş was early by Romanians (Vlachs) and Serbs (Illyrians) inhabited and belonged to Wallachian-Illyrian Border Infantry Regiment. 13 of the Banat Military Frontier until its dissolution in 1873, then the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary annexed to become.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the trisection of the Banat , whereby Naidăș fell to the Kingdom of Romania . In the interwar period Naidăş belonged to the Răcăşdia District, Caraş County.

Naidăș border crossing

Today there is a border crossing to Serbia for people and goods at Naidăș . The border crossing gained notoriety in 2011 when 55 border police and customs officers were arrested for illegal cigarette smuggling.
