Lăpușnicu Mare (German: Lapuschnik , Hungarian: Nagylaposnok ) is a municipality in the Caraș-Severin County , Banat , Romania . The village of Moceriș also belongs to the municipality of Lăpușnicu Mare .

Geographical location

Lăpușnicu Mare is located in the Almăj Valley, in the south of the Caraș-Severin district, on the right bank of the Nera . The village is crossed by the Lăpușnic stream, which divides the village into two equal parts.

Over time, the name of the village had different spellings: 1540 Lapusnik , 1808 Lapusnik , Lapuschnik , 1913 Nagylaposnok , 1919 Lăpușnic

On the Josephine land survey of 1717 the place Lapuschnik is registered with 30 houses. Lapuschnik was part of the Banat military border and initially belonged to the Bozovici Company and then to the 1st Dalboşeț Company .

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the trisection of the Banat , which Lăpuşnicu Mare fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
