history

According to AD Xenopol , the Roman fortress Aizis was located on the area of the municipality of Ezeriș . A first written mention of the village comes from the year 1319. In the records of the historian Marsigli from 1690 to 1700, Hecseris appears in the Bocşa district .

On the Josephine land survey of 1717 Eseresch is registered with 52 houses and belonged to the Werschetz district . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . In 1788 Ezeriș was completely burned down during the Russo-Austrian Turkish War . The residents fled to the surrounding forests.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the division of the Banat into three parts , whereby Ezeriș fell to the Kingdom of Romania . In 1950 the municipality of Ezeriș was founded as an administrative center, to which the village of Soceni has belonged since then.
