history
Over the centuries, different spellings of the place name, which comes from the Slavic, appeared: 1428–1484 Jabolchyna , Jabelchna , Yabelchna , 1439 Jablanc , 1500 Jablanowo , 1501 Jablanicza , 1690–1700 Jabalnicza, 1808 Jablonicza , 1873 Jablanica , 1910 Bczélajablanica , 1913 Bélajablánc , 1920 Iablanița .
A first documentary mention comes from the year 1402. Jablonitza is registered with 80 houses on the Josephine land survey of 1717 . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat .
As a result of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Banat was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary . The official place name was Bélajablánc .
The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the triple division of the Banat , whereby Iablanița fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
