history

A first documentary mention comes from the year 1376. Over the centuries different spellings of the place name occurred: 1376 Balasnicha , 1808 Bolvasnicza , 1888 Bolvashnica , 1913 Bolvás , 1909 Bolvasnicza , 1919 Bolvașnița .

Bolvaşnița is mentioned in the records of the historian Marsigli from 1690 to 1700 . Polvaschnitsa is entered on the Josephine land survey of 1717 . After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . During the Russo-Austrian Turkish War of 1788 , the village was completely destroyed and then rebuilt according to the Habsburg model.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the triple division of the Banat, as a result of which Bolvașnița fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
