Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on October 28, 2005 that the film was "tender" and "deep-looking". He argues that you can neither force love on nor induce another person to take over your own needs and desires.

The lexicon of international films wrote: “An entertaining romantic comedy based on a novel by actor Steve Martin, who also wrote the screenplay and slipped into the role of the (too old) beau. Under the concentrated direction, restrained humor develops with thoughtful moments. "
