Siegfried Ernst von Ahlefeldt

Siegfried Ernst von Ahlefeldt (born November 13, 1721 in Lindau , † February 7, 1792 in Ratzeburg ) was a German infantry general of the Kingdom of Hanover .

Life

Siegfried Ernst was a member of the Schleswig noble family Ahlefeldt . His parents were the Danish Lieutenant General Balthasar von Ahlefeldt (1684–1752) and Sophie Hedwig, b. [von] Wohnsfleth (1697–1728).

Career

Ahlefeldt had been an ensign in the Brunswick-Lüneburg army from 1738 . In 1741 he advanced to lieutenant , took part in the War of the Austrian Succession and in 1745 and 1747, respectively, as captain . Further promotions followed: in 1751 to major and in 1757 to lieutenant colonel . With his ascent to Colonel in 1759 ünbernahm he succeeded by Colonel Johann Heinrich von Fersen and the 13th Infantry Regiment . He took part with the regiment in the battle of Minden . He is said to have played a major role in the victory of the Allies in the Battle of Vellinghausen in 1761 and rose to major general for his behavior in the Battle of Wilhelmsthal in 1762 . Ahlefeldt became the commandant of Ratzeburg, advanced to lieutenant general in 1772 and finally in 1788 to general of the infantry.

Ahlefeldt was the heir to Steinhausen . As such, he was a co-signer of the Land Constitutional Constitutional Comparison . Furthermore, he is said to have owned the Mecklenburg goods Hagebök in northwest Mecklenburg from 1781 and Eichhorst .

Ahlefeldt had been married to Sophie Charlotte von Bassewitz (1740–1775) since 1757 . The marriage had six children:
