Signal Hill is the name of a 150  acres (0.6  km² ) nature reserve around the elevation of the same name in the city of Canton in the state of Massachusetts in the United States . It is managed by The Trustees of Reservations organization.

Protected area

An old cart path leads up to the 188  ft (57.3  m ) high hill, which was the seasonal home of the Indians who settled in the Neponset River Valley , from where there is a good view of the nearby Great Blue Hill and those on the horizon visible Boston skyline . The Neponset River flows at the foot of the hill , where another path runs along the bank. There is also a dock for canoes and kayaks . The reserve is also popular for bird watching , as falcons in particular take advantage of the thermal differences between the Blue Hills and the valley. There are also many songbirds in the area, and the river is home to frogs, turtles and other amphibians.
