Sigrid Hupach (born September 9, 1968 in Leinefelde ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and was a member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2017 .

Life

Sigrid Hupach completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for writing technology after finishing the Polytechnic High School Geschwister Scholl in Bektiven . She then initially worked as a secretary and commercial clerk. After attending the Fachoberschule Wirtschaft in Mühlhausen in 1993/1994, he studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt from 1995 to 2000, as well as studying philosophy at the Georg-August University . She then worked as a freelancer.

Hupach is a single parent and has three sons.

She has been a member of Die Linke since 2007. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Eichsfeld district council . Since November 2011 she has been a member of the state board of the Left in Thuringia. From 2012, Hupach was a member of the constituency of the state parliament member Jörg Kubitzki .

In the 2013 federal election , Hupach was a direct candidate in the constituency of the Bundestag constituency of Eichsfeld - Nordhausen - Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis I , where she was clearly defeated by Manfred Grund (CDU), but moved into the Bundestag due to her position 5 on the Thuringia state list. Hupach was one of seven parliamentary managers of the left parliamentary group in the German Bundestag.

She ran unsuccessfully for the Bundestag election 2017 in the Bundestag constituency Eisenach - Wartburgkreis - Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis . Since her party only won three seats in Thuringia, she also missed re-entry into the Bundestag via the state list of the Left, on which she again ran in fifth place.
