Daniela Trochowski (born March 12, 1969 in Roßlau ) is a former State Secretary ( PDS , later Die Linke ) of the Ministry of Finance and for Europe of the State of Brandenburg . She has been a managing board member of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation since 2020 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1987, Trochowski completed a traineeship with the “Free Press” in Chemnitz until 1988. She then studied economics at the University of Leipzig until 1994 , where she graduated with a degree in economics. Then she worked as a group leader in accounting at Schels und Sohn GmbH & Co KG in Maxhütte-Haidhof until 1996 .

From 1996 to 2002 she was a research assistant in the PDS group and parliamentary group. From 2002 to 2005 she moved to the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Labor and Women, where she was an advisor to the state secretaries, after which she returned to the left-wing parliamentary group in the German Bundestag , where she was responsible for taxes and finances until her appointment as state secretary in 2009. In November 2019 she was elected executive board member of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and took up this position on February 1, 2020.

Political party

She has been a member of the PDS or the Left since 1990. From 2012 to 2016 she was a member of the state executive committee of the Left in Brandenburg .

State Secretary

Trochowski was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Brandenburg from November 2009 to October 2019. Although she advocated the abolition of civil servants , she became civil servant in July 2012 and became a political officer .

In this function she was a member of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH until the end of 2014. From 2011 to 2014 Trochowski was the representative of the state of Brandenburg in the shareholders' meeting of Flughafen GmbH. According to a report in the Bild newspaper, Trochowski "did not even take part in the ten shareholder meetings" of Flughafen GmbH. In contrast, the Berliner Morgenpost reported that the states of Berlin and Brandenburg had stipulated before Trochowski's appointment that representation at the shareholders' meeting would be done by the working level. According to information from the newspaper, the state of Berlin and the federal government have not proceeded any differently to this day. The Berlin tax authority confirmed to the newspaper that the Berlin partner would be represented by an employee of the tax administration.

After the formation of the Brandenburg state government from the SPD , CDU and the Greens ( Woidke III cabinet ) in the 7th electoral term in Brandenburg, Trochowski was put into temporary retirement on November 20, 2019 . Trochoswki has been replaced by State Secretary Frank Stolper since November 21, 2019 .
