The Slovenian Army forms the army component of the Slovenian armed forces .

In addition to the operational support command (with the six territorial commandos in Celje , Kranj , Maribor , Novo mesto , Postojna and Vrhnika , the 157th Logistics Battalion and the medical associations ) , the Slovenian Army has the following groups of active units:

The reserve system is carried out by two brigades , each with a tank battalion, two infantry battalions, an artillery battalion and a reconnaissance battalion.

To fulfill its tasks, the Slovenian Army u. a. 40 M-84 - Tank , 30 T-55 -Kampfpanzer (inactive), 8 BRDM-2 - Spähpanzer , 42 M-80 - armored , 28 BOV 3MD -Mannschaftstransportpanzer, 85 Valuk -Mannschaftstransportpanzer, 18 105-mm-M -2A1 guns, 18 155mm TN-90 guns, 12 BOV-3s with 9K11 Malyutka anti-tank guided weapons and 12 BOV-3s with 9K114 turret anti-tank guided weapons .
