Snowboard World Cup in the Montafon

The Snowboard World Cup in Montafon has been part of the Snowboard World Cup since the 2012/13 season . It is organized by the International Ski Association (FIS) and the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) with its company, Austria Ski Veranstaltungs GmbH (ASVG). The important partners for the World Cup are Silvretta Montafon and Montafon Tourismus. The organizing committee consists of the President Peter Marko and the Secretary General Christian Speckle. The snowboard cross route is 980 meters long and the parallel slalom route is 280 meters long, and the competitions are held in Schruns in the Silvretta Montafon , Hochjoch.

history

In the 2010/11 season the snowboard cross world cup was held once in Lech am Arlberg . Then a region in Vorarlberg was looked for a suitable place to optimally present snowboard cross. So the Montafon was found suitable. The first snowboard cross world cup took place in December 2012. In December 2014 the snowboard cross had to be canceled due to high temperatures. Instead, a parallel slalom and a mixed team competition were held.
