The Société Anonyme Iranienne de Production Automobile , SAIPA for short ( Persian سایپا), is an Iranian manufacturer of automobiles , engines and utility vehicles founded in 1966. The company's headquarters are in Tehran . The group employs 18,500 people worldwide. Saipa mainly manufactures and sells French , Japanese and South Korean vehicles under license: Renault and Citroën from France, Nissan from Japan and Kia from South Korea. The manufacturer also develops and sells its own vehicles such as the Saipa Caravan minivan . Saipa is listed in TEPIX on the Tehran Stock Exchange .

The company does not concentrate solely on the Iranian market , the export or production of vehicles abroad has also been promoted for years.

The Saipa Group has 24 subsidiaries in Germany and abroad. In addition, more than 80 companies from the domestic vehicle and supplier industry are close to the group.
